The 5 Claude connectors setup guide

A connector plugs an outside tool into Claude, so Claude can use that tool for you in a normal chat. My guide sets up five of them, step by step.

Adding a custom connector may need a paid Claude plan, depending on your account. Playwright needs a computer. On your phone? Start with the three cards. They work in any chat.

Check before I connect an account

A connector can read and act inside the account you connect. Know what you are switching on.

I am about to connect an account to Claude through a connector. Ask me which tool or account, then wait.

Then give me one screen, no more:
1. What Claude will be able to read.
2. What Claude will be able to do: send, delete, buy, change.
3. Which of those actions should always ask me first.
4. What I should not connect at all.

If you are not sure what this connector can do, say so. Tell me where in its settings I can check.

Turn a weekly task into a connector job

Shows you which steps a connector can take off your plate, and which stay with you.

Ask me to describe one task I do every week, step by step. Then wait.

When you have it:
1. Split it into steps. Mark each one: Claude can do it with a connector, Claude can draft it and I finish it, or I must do it.
2. Name the connector each step needs: Perplexity, Firecrawl, PostHog, Playwright or Composio. Say "none" when none fits.
3. Write the one prompt I would paste to run it. Put a stop for my approval before anything is sent, deleted or bought.

Claude does not use the connector

Open the tools menu under the message box. Check the connector is switched on for this chat.

Then name it in your prompt: Use Perplexity to...

It says it could not reach the server

Check the address for typos. It must start with https://

Then update the Claude app to the latest version.

I am stuck on sign-in

In Settings, open Connectors, pick the connector, tap Disconnect, then Connect again.

Allow pop-ups for claude.ai.

Playwright does not show up

Quit Claude fully and open it again.

Check Node.js is installed. Run node -v in a terminal. It should say v18 or higher.

None of these fixed it
