Kronos is the first open source foundation model for candlestick charts, trained on data from over 45 exchanges and accepted at AAAI 2026. Give it a price chart and it forecasts the next candles.
Free (MIT) with over 43,000 stars on GitHub, and it runs on your own computer. It forecasts, it does not guarantee: research, not financial advice.
Open The Kronos GuidePDF . opens in a new tab12 pages: the live demo, the install, getting your price data, the point-and-click web app, the code, the settings, reading a forecast honestly, and one prompt that makes Claude Code do it all.

PyTorch and the model download on the first run.
Open, high, low, close, ideally volume, oldest first. Step 1 gets one for you.
// set it up
Step 1 goes in Claude Code if you have it, or follow the guide's Terminal steps. Tap Copy, paste, send.
Step 1 of 3 . start here
Paste into Claude Code. It installs Kronos, downloads the data and runs a test forecast. Swap in your ticker.
Set up Kronos for me from https://github.com/shiyu-coder/Kronos 1. Clone it, make a Python virtual environment, install requirements.txt. 2. Download the last 2 years of daily candles for [TICKER] into a CSV with: timestamps, open, high, low, close, volume. 3. Run Kronos-small on the first 400 rows and forecast the next 120. 4. Plot the forecast against the real prices and save it as a PNG. 5. Tell me in plain words how close it was. Do not trade anything.
Step 2 of 3
From the Kronos folder in Terminal. Then open http://localhost:7070, load your CSV, pick Kronos-small and press predict.
cd webui pip install -r requirements.txt python run.py
Step 3 of 3
Ask Claude Code after your first forecast.
Run the forecast 5 times with sample_count 3 and show me how much the runs disagree. Explain it like I am new to trading.
// get unstuck
No. Kronos is its own forecasting model. Claude Code can install and run it for you, which is what step 1 does.
Kronos needs Python 3.10 or newer. Check with python3 --version.
Run python run.py from the webui folder, keep the window open, then visit http://localhost:7070.
It is a research model that forecasts, not a guarantee. Test it on past data first and never risk money you cannot lose. Not financial advice.
Check the repo's README and issues, or email support@variancemarketing.com.
Kronos is an open source project by its own research team (MIT), not by Avi Grondin. This page is not affiliated with or endorsed by it. Nothing here is financial or investment advice.
